Abstract:
Objective
To analyze vitamin A and E levels in serum of children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, and to study the relationship between the change in vitamin A and E levels and Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children.
Methods
Totally 90 children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia treated in our hospital in 2018 were selected as observation group, and 90 healthy children for checkup in the same period were selected as control group. The serum levels of vitamin A and E were compared between the two groups.
Results
The serum level of vitamin A in observation group was much lower than that of control group; the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in serum vitamin E levels between the two groups(P>0.05). The prevalence of suspicious subclinical vitamin A deficiency in observation group was 38.89% and the prevalence of subclinical vitamin A deficiency in observation group was 34.44%, both of which were higher than those of control group with statistical difference(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The suspicious subclinical vitamin A deficiency and subclinical vitamin A deficiency commonly exist in the children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. There maybe a correlation between vitamin A deficiency and mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia.
