Abstract:

To evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of intractable sleep disorders in children.

A total of 104 children with intractable sleep disorders who were treated in department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of our hospital from January 2013 to January 2017 were chosen as the observation subjects, and were randomly divided into observation group and control group,52 cases in each group. Both groups were given scientific sleep hygiene education, family sleep management and diet guidance. The observation group was treated with Anhun decoction and Yintang acupuncture. The control group was given psychological behavior intervention and Xiao'er Zhili syrup. Treatment lasted for 1 month and they were followed up for 3 months. The two groups of children we compared in clinical efficacy and CSHQ score and adverse reactions.
Results
The total effective rate was 94.2%(49/52) in the observation group and 78.9%(41/52) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The CSHQ score was lower in the observation group than in the control group respectively at one month and 3 months after treatment, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05). The CSHQ score was lower at one month after treatment that before the treatment in the observation group(P<0.05), but there was no statistical difference between one month and 3 months after treatment(P>0.05). There were no adverse reactions in the two groups of children except that two children in the observation group had vomiting at the beginning of treatment.
