Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Zidian formula combined with western medicine in the treatment of children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura, in order to provide clinical reference and optimization ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Methods
A retrospective study was performed on 121 children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura who were treated with modified Zidian formula combined with western medicine in Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2015 to June 2018. The patients were followed up for 2 weeks as evaluation point to observe the signs and symptoms before and after treatment. Take half a year as an evaluation point to observe the recurrence of rash and renal damage in children before and after treatment.
Results
After 2 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate on rash was 97.52%(118/121), and the total effective rate on refractory rash was 86.36%(19/22). After 2 weeks of treatment, the TCM syndrome major total points, minor total points and total points were lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The total effective rate on TCM syndromes was 97.52%(118/121). There were 86 cases of recurrent rash after half a year of treatment, and the frequency of recurrence within half a year of treatment was significantly lower than that in the half a year before treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). There were 82 cases without renal damage before treatment, and 9 cases showed new renal damage in the half-year follow-up, with the incidence of renal damage being 10.98%(9/82).
ConclusionModified Zidian formula combined with western medicine in the treatment of children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms, reduce the recurrence of skin rash, and reduce the possibility of allergic purpura renal damage, and it has a high safety.
