Abstract: Objective To investigate the risk factors and clinical characteristics of ischemic stroke(IS) in children. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted in 169 children with ischemic stroke admitted to and treated in Hunan Children's Hospital from January 1, 2013, to September 30, 2018. Results Among the 169 cases, 96 cases were male and 73 cases were female. The median age of onset was 2.4±1.3 years old, and the first symptom were mostly convulsion, hemiplegia and language disorder. Common risk factors were infection, cerebral arteriopathy, trauma, heart disease and moyamoya disease, etc. ConclusionIschemic stroke is a common type of stroke in children, and infection, cerebral arteriopathy, trauma and moyamoya disease are the most important risk factors. Clinical manifestations can be varied, and the most common ones are paralysis, language disorder and convulsions.
