Abstract:
Objective
To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xiyanping injection in the treatment of respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia in children by meta analysis.
Methods
The CNKI, VIP, CBM, Wanfang Data, PubMed, Web of Science, EMbase and The Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched, and the search time was until April 30, 2019. Collect randomized controlled trials(RCTs) on Xiyanping injection in the treatment of children with respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia. Two researchers independently completed literature screening, information extraction and risk assessment of bias, and a Metaanalysis was made on the valid data using RevMan 5.3 software.
Results
A total of 9 clinical controlled studies were included, with a total of 686 cases. Metaanalysis showed that, in terms of effectiveness, Xiyanping injection significantly improved the total effective rate[RR=1.18, 95%CI(1.12, 1.25), P<0.000 01] and significantly shortened hospital stay[MD=-3.01, 95%CI(-3.82, -2.61), P<0.000 01]; it also shortened the time of fever, and the relief time of cough and lung rales; it accelerated the absorption time of chest inflammation and reduced serum inflammatory factor levels. In terms of safety, the incidence of adverse reactions was reduced[MD=0.45, 95%CI(0.25, 0.82), P<0.010], and the difference was statistically significant.
Conclusion
The efficacy and safety of Xiyanping injection in treating children with respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia is better than conventional treatment, which can significantly improve the total clinical effective rate, significantly shorten the hospital stay, improve symptoms and signs, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions. However, the number and quality of the included literature is limited, and more large-sample, high-quality randomized controlled trials are needed to verify its effectiveness and safety.
