Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with wax therapy on the standing balance of spastic cerebral palsy children.
Methods
Totally 60 cases of children with spastic cerebral palsy were chosen, who were treated in Foshan Nanhai District Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from January 2015 to December 2016，and they were divided into control group(30 cases) and observation group(30 cases) according to the order of treatment. Both groups were given routine rehabilitation training, and the observation group was additionally given traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with wax treatment, 1 time per day, 6 times per week, with 2 weeks as one course. The interval between each two courses was 1 week. After 3 courses of treatment, the modified Ashworth muscle tension, GMFM(D) and Gait View plantar pressure tester were used to evaluate the muscle tension and standing balance of the child.
Results
After treatment, the Ashworth muscle tension, GMFM(D) and Gait View plantar pressure test values of both groups were improved to different degrees compared with those before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05), and these indexes were better in the observation group(P<0.05).
Conclusion
Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with wax therapy is a safe and effective anti-spasm treatment.
