Abstract: Objective:To sum up the clinical characteristics of infectious mononucleosis in children in order to get early diagnosis and treatment. Methods:A retrospective analysis of 55 cases of infectious mononycleosis by EBV infection in our hospital was carried out. Results:The clinical manifestations of the disease mainly were: fever 98.2% (54/55),angina 100% (55/55),lymph node enlargement 87.2% (48/55),liver enlargement 32.7% (18/55),splenomegaly 49.1% (27/55),eyelid edema 54.5% (30/55),nasal obstruction 29.0% (16/55),and rash 23.6% (13/55). Laboratory examination: peripheral blood white blood cell count was greater than 10×109/L in 96% (53/55); EBV-DNA was positive in all cases, with liver function damage, myocardial damage, or pneumonia. Ganciclovir treatment was effective. Conclusion:The clinical manifestations of infectious mononucleosis are complex and diverse, which can be complicated with multiple organ damage, but most of the prognosis is good. EBV-DNA detection has specificity, which can improve the early diagnosis of the disease. Ganciclovir treatment is effective.
