Abstract: The morbidity of Mycoplasma pneunoniae pneumonia(MPP) has increased year by year, and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) shows certain advantage in preventing MPP. As single pathogenic factors, heat, dryness, phlegm, stasis and deficiency can induce MPP; in the meantime, numerous factors can be pathogenic in a combined way. Heat, phlegm and stasis may interact with each other as both cause and effect and accumulate during the lesion process, which may produce toxin, resulting in severe pneumonia. Based on the etiological and pathogenetic factors of MPP, many famous physicians treat MPP through syndrome differentiation from various points of view, and have attained excellent therapeutic effects. This paper concluded the experience of the contemporary masters in treating MPP, with an aim to provide effective basis for treating MPP, develop thoughts, and establish foundation for standardizing and perfecting the MPP syndrome differentiation and treatment system.
