Abstract:
Objective
To investigate the effects of combined treatment with astragalus injection and Smecta on immunologic function in children with chronic diarrhea.
Methods
Sixty children with chronic diarrhea admitted to Department of Pediatrics, the Second Hospital of Chaoyang from January 2015 to August 2016, were included and equally randomized into treatment group and control group(n=30). Oral treatment with Smecta was given for 10 days in the control group, and the oral treatment with Smecta combined with intravenous injection of astragalus injection was given for 10 days in the treatment group. The treatment efficacy and serum immunoglobulin content after treatment were observed.
Results
The total effective rate in the treatment group(96.7%,29/30) was significantly higher than that in the control group(73.3%,22/30)(P<0.01). The levels of serum immunoglobulin IgA, IgG and IgM in the two groups after treatment were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05). The levels of serum immunoglobulin IgA, IgG and IgM in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion
Combined treatment with astragalus injection and Smecta can improve immunologic function and therapeutic effects in children with chronic diarrhea.
