Abstract: Objective:To observe the effect of budesonide combined with montelukekast in the treatment of children with cough-variant asthma. Methods:A total of 86 children admitted to the Pediatric Department of Dengfeng People's Hospital and treated for cough-variant asthma from April 2015 to May 2016 were chosen as the research subjects, and they were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 43 in each group. The control group was treated with budesonide, which the observation group was treated with montelukast in addition to budesonide, 7 days as a course of treatment. After two courses, the clinical effect was evaluated, and the changes of IL-8 and IL-4 level were detected before and after treatment. Results:The total effective rate was 97.7%(42/43) in the observation group and 86.0%(37/43) in the control group, the difference was of no statistical significance(P>0.05). The level of IL-8 and IL-4 before treatment had no statistical difference(P>0.05), but after treatment, their levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05). Conclusion:The combination therapy with montelukast and budesonide has good effect in the treatment of children with cough-variant asthma; the children recovered sooner and the inflammation is relieved earlier.
