Research progress of tic disorder in children

Abstract: Tic disorder(TD) is acommon sudden, rapid, recurrent neuropsychiatric disorder dominated by rhythmic movement or vocalization in children or adolescents. The exact etiology and pathogenesis are not clear. A small number ofchildren can get relieved by themselves at puberty, but the disease may be refractory in some children. This paper focuses on theresearch frontier of tic disorder at home and abroad. By searching Pubmed, Cochrane Library, CBM, CNKI and Wanfang databases, this paper systematically discusses the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of ticdisorder from the aspects of epidemiology, comorbidity, pathogenesis and diagnosis and treatment methods by traditional Chinese and Western medicine, in order to provide new treatment ideas and theoretical basis for clinical practice.
