Abstract: Refractory Henoch-Schonlein purpura refers to a disease in which a large amount of skin purpura appears repeatedly in batches; the course of disease is more than three months, and no kidney, digestive tract or other important organs are involved. In the process of clinical treatment, the conventional method is often not effective and the disease recurs, so the children bear great mental and psychological pressure. By analyzing the clinical symptoms of different children in the long-term clinical practice, the authors summarized the core pathogenesis as imbalance of Ying and Wei, liver depression and spleen deficiency, accumulation of dampness and heat, and deficiency of viscera. Based on the three principles of "harmonizing, clearing, tonifying", the disease was treated by applying methods according to the symptoms, which achieved good clinical efficacy.
