ObjectiveTo observe the blocking and inhibiting effect of streamlined formula of Yinqiao powder (SFYQP) and Yupingfeng powder (YPFP) extract on influenzaA FM1 strains in chicken embryo.
MethodsChicken embryo experiment technology was used to observe the effectiveness of SFYQP and YPFP extract on inhibiting influenza A virus (IV) FM1 strains.
ResultsED50 of IV infected chicken embryo was 10-6. Themaximum of no toxicity concentration (TC0) of SFYQP and YPFP extract was 39.15 g/L and 36.2 g/L,respectively. The TC0 of ribavirin was 100 g/L. SFYQP extract had effect on preventing infection by IV FM1 strains. The ED50 was 7.41 g/L, and its therapeutic index (TI) was more than 5.28. When its concentration was 19.58 g/L, no infection rate in chicken embryo was 100%, and its effect was better than on other concentration (P<0.05).SFYQP extract had effect of inhibiting infection by IV FM1 strains. Its ED50 was 9.91 g/L, and its TI was more than 3.95. When its concentration was 39.15 g/L, no infection rate in chicken embryo was 100%, and its effect was better than on other concentration (P<0.05). YPFP extract also had effect of preventing infection by IV FM1 strains. Its ED50 was 9.57 g/L, and its TI was more than 3.78. When its concentration was 36.2 g/L, no infection rate in chicken embryo was 100%, and its effect was better than on other concentration (P<0.05).YPFP extract had the effect of inhibiting infection by IV FM1 strains. Its ED50 was 10.38 g/L, and its TI was more than 3.3. When its concentration were 39.15 g/L and 18.1 g/L, no infection rate on two concentrations was both 83%, and their effect was better than on the concentration of 9.05 g/L (P<0.05). On observing the death blocking of extract on chicken embryos, the blocking of YPFP extract was more effective than SFYQP extract, though, inhibition of SFYQP extract was more effective than YPFP extract. Moreover, blocking and inhibition of both extracts were obviously better than ribavirin (P<0.05).
ConclusionSFYQP and YPFP extracts have the effect of blocking and inhibition on IV FM1 strains infected chicken embryo.
