Abstract:
Objective :To observe the effect of traditional Chinese medicine orally taken and externally applied in the treatment of abdominal allergic purpura.
Methods: Sixty children with abdominal allergic purpura hospitalized in Qiqihaer TCM Hospital from January 2010 to January 2014 were randomly divided into two groups: observation group(30 cases) and control group(30 cases). The control group was given prednisone tablets and Vc pill, while the observation group was given decoction of Chinese medicine, plus feet fumigation with medicinal herbs and moxibustion of abdominal acupoints. The treatment lasted for 2 weeks for both groups. Compare the treatment effect, time length for purpura to disappear and for abdominal pain to be relieved, and the adverse reactions.
Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 100.0%(30/30), significantly higher than the control group(66.7%,20/30), with statistical difference(P<0.05).Both of the time length were shorter in observation group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no adverse reactions in both groups.
Conclusion: The method of orally taking decoction of Chinese medicine plus feet fumigation with medicinal herbs and moxibustion of abdominal acupoints has great effect in the treatment of children with abdominal allergic purpura, which can remove the purpura and relieve abdominal pain and has fewer adverse reactions. It is very safe and worthy of clinical application.
