Clinical observation on the therapeutic effect of electronic biofeedback combined with facial massage and acupuncture on peripheral facial paralysis in children

Abstract:
Objective:To observe the effect of electronic biofeedback instrument combined with facial massage and acupuncture in the treatment of children with peripheral facial nerve paralysis.
Methods:From June 2013 to January 2014 in Hu'nan Provincial Children′s Hospital 70 cases of peripheral facial paralysis patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 35 cases in each group.Control group was given routine medicine and physical therapy,while the observation group was added electronic biofeedback instrument combined with a special facial massage and acupuncture.The treatment lasted for 1 month.The nursing method included psychological nursing,eye nursing,dental nursing,diet nursing and life nursing and the patients were guided to take rehabilitation exercise.After the treatment,the treatment effects of two groups were compared.
Results:Total efficiency of two groups had no significant difference(P>005).In the observation group markedly effective rate was 971%(34/35),higher than that of the control group[771%(27/35)],the difference being statistically significant(P<005).
Conclusion:Electronic biological feedback therapy and facial massage and acupuncture therapy are effective on children with facial paralysis when used in combination,and it is worth clinical application.
