Abstract: Objective:To study the effect of auricular point sticking in adjuvant treatment of infantile asthma(phlegmy heat warm lung) at acute stage,and to provide effective treatment programs for clinical control of asthma.
Methods:There were 60 children meeting the diagnosis standard，who came from the Pediatric Outpatient Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2014 to May 2015,and they were randomly divided into two groups：the treatment group and the control group,each with 30 children.The treatment group was treated by Chinese medicine(Dingchuan decoction) and auricular point sticking therapy.The control group was treated only by Chinese medicine.After 7 days of treatment,the symptoms and signs scores before and after the treatments and clinical efficacy were analyzed.
Results:The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.7%(29/30)，and compared to 93.3% of the control group(28/30),there were no significant statistical differences(P>0.05).In the improvement of cough and expectoration，there were no statistical differences(P>0.05) between the two groups.However，in the improvement of wheezing,pulmonary wheezing rale and limitation of motion，the treatment group was better with statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment,the signs，including tongue,pulse,pharyngeal red,dry mouth,red face,yellow urine,constipation and yellow sputum，in two groups were improved(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant，but there was no statistical difference(P>0.05) between the two groups.
Conclusion:During an asthma attack,auricular point sticking therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine,can relieve wheezing,pulmonary wheezing rale and the limited mobility,achieving the goal of treatment.Auricular point sticking therapy is simple and reliable,which is worthy of promoting.
