Abstract:
Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of the treatment of regulating qi and eliminating phlegm for phlegm heat type of mesenteric lymphadenitis in children.
Methods: From October 2013 to 2014,66 children were treated in Department of Pediatrics of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui TCM University for acute mesenteric lymphadenitis(phlegm heat stasis type),and they were randomly divided into the control group and observation group of 33 cases in each.The observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine Wendan decoction granules,orally,while control group was given cefprozil granules and Clostridium butyricum live bacteria tablets|treatment lasted for 2 weeks.The total curative effect and the size of abdominal mesenteric lymph nodes were observed in the two groups after treatment.
Results: The total effective rate of observation group was 90.9%(30/33),which was significantly higher than that of control group (66.7%,22/33),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Mesenteric lymph nodes of the two groups in the transverse and longitudinal diameters were significantly reduced,the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the transverse diameter and longitudinal diameter of mesenteric lymph nodes in the observation group were significantly smaller than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
Conclusion: The modified Wendan decoction in the treatment of phlegm heat type of mesenteric lymphadenitis in children has definite curative effect,which is worthy of promotion.
