Abstract:
Objective: To study the clinical effect of rehabilitation therapy of Chinese medicine combined with botulinum toxin A in children with cerebral palsy.
Methods: From Mar.2013 to Mar.2015,a total of 80 cerebral palsy children who accepted treatments in our hospital were taken as the clinical research objects, and these patients were randomly divided into observation group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases).Patients in the control group were given rehabilitation therapy of Chinese medicine, and the other patients in the observation group were given rehabilitation therapy of Chinese medicine combined with botulinum toxin A.Six months after treatments,we observed and compared the clinical effects in these two groups.
Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 82.5%(33/40),which was significantly higher than that of the control group 62.5%(25/40),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Three months after the end of the treatment, the spasm score was (2.74±0.36) in the observation group, which was significantly lower than that of the control group(3.85±0.33),and the difference was statistical(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reaction had no statistical difference between the two groups.
Conclusion: Rehabilitation therapy of Chinese medicine combined with botulinum toxin A can improve children′s cognitive function and life quality, which has remarkable effect in the treatment of cerebral palsy.
