Abstract:
Objective：To evaluate the effects of Xiaoer Feire Kechuan granules for treating children with bronchitis.
Methods：A randomized controlled trial was conducted. Totally 120 cases of children with bronchitis from Yizheng Hospital，Drum Tower Hospital Group of Nanjing, from February 2014 to February 2015, were studied. They were divided into two groups: the observation group(60 cases) and the control group(60 cases). The observation group was given Xiaoer Feire Kechuan granules combined with routine treatment of western medicine, and the control group was only treated by routine treatment of western medicine, both for 5 days as a course of treatment, then evaluat these two groups of children with  regard to the general curative effect and the time for the treatment to be effective and for symptoms of fever and cough to disappear.
Results：The curative rate of observation group was 53.33%(32/60) and effective rate was 96.66%(58/60). The curative rate of control group was 33.33%(20/60) and effective rate was 83.33%(50/60), and there were statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05). The time for the treatment to be effective and for symptoms of fever and cough to disappear in the observation group was statistically shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion：Xiaoer Feire Kechuan granules has good effect in relieving cough and fever, and it’s reliable in the treatment of children with bronchitis.
