Abstract:
Objective:To explore the intervention effect of biofeedback treatment in combination with parents training on children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) and to provide evidence for the comprehensive treatment for ADHD children.
Methods:Eighty children with ADHD were randomly divided into two groups, the intervention group and the control group. Two groups were treated with biofeedback, 20 times as a course for 3 courses. The parents of the intervention group accepted parents training for 4 weeks, 2 hours per time, once a week, which included attention training, behavior modification, establishment of parenthood and training of parenting style. The intervention effect was evaluated using the Psychological Scale, AYP(an index reflecting the brain's performance ability) and parents' satisfaction before and after 3 courses of treatment.
Results:After the treatment, ADHD children's scores on the Psychological Scale and AYP were all significantly better than those before treatment in both groups, with significantly statistical differences(P<0.05). The control group's score of attention control, the parent-child relationship scores and the total scores of parents satisfaction were lower than those of the intervention group after the treatment, and the difference was statistical (P<0.05).
Conclusion:Biofeedback treatment in combination with parents training, as a nonpharmacological treatment, can effectively improve the symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and increase children's learning ability; furthermore, it can improve the parent-child relationship, and is more likely to be accepted by parents, which is worth promoting.
