Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical effect of Shenzong granule on children with primary nephrotic syndrome and its influence on micro-inflammation.
Methods
A total of 40 PNS children were include in the research, who were treated in the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong TCM University from March 2012 to March 2014, and they were randomly divided into two groups ,20 cases in the observation group and 20 in the control group. Both groups were treated with conventional symptomatic treatment, and prednisone at 2 mg/(kg·d) was given, which was used for 2 weeks after the urine protein turned negative, and then it was given every other day at the same dose for continuously 4 weeks; after that, a dose of 2.5 mg was reduced every 2 to 4 weeks until it was stopped. On this basis, the observation group was also given Shenzong granule, two months as a course. Observe the clinical effect and 24h content of urine protein, and the level of serum albumin, total cholesterol and hypersensitive C-reactive protein.
Results
The total effective rate of observation group was 85%(17/20), which was not statistically different from that of control group(75%,15/20)(P>0.05). Compared with before treatment, the serum albumin level in both groups was significantly higher, while the level of hypersensitive C-reactive protein, 24h urine protein and total cholesterol was significantly lower after treatment, the difference being statistical(P<0.05). After treatment, the serum albumin level was significantly higher than that of control group, while the level of hypersensitive C-reactive protein, 24h urine protein and total cholesterol was significantly lower, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The treatment with hormone and Shenzong granule for children with PNS can significantly down-regulate the level of serum lipid and hypersensitive C-reactive protein, which is effective in improving the micro-inflammation in PNS children.
