Abstract: Objective:To analyze the causes of 78 cases of dyspnea due to non-respiratory diseases. Methods:Seventy-eight cases of dyspnea caused by non-respiratory diseases were enrolled, who were hospitalized in the Emergency Department of Hunan Children's Hospital from August 2015 to August 2016. The children underwent laboratory examinations, imaging examinations and echocardiography to determine the cause of the disease and targeted treatment measures were adopted. Results:The main non-respiratory causes resulting in dyspnea included heart failure, thyroid enlargement compressing the trachea and hypothyroidism combined with pericardial effusion, cardiac achalasia, anemia and diabetic ketoacidosis, among which heart failure was the main cause of dyspnea in children, accounting for 65.4%(51/78). After being treated according to the causes of different diseases, the symptoms of dyspnea in children were significantly improved. Conclusion:In the pediatric emergency respiratory problems, there are many non-respiratory reasons, which require doctors to identify through reasonable examination and judgment, so as to take proper treatment measures.
