Abstract: Objective
To observe the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation training on balance function and gait in children with spastic cerebral palsy (CP),which is based on the routine rehabilitation training combined with the core stability training and body weight support treadmill training(BWSTT).
Methods
A total of 120 children with spastic cerebral palsy, who were treated in Weifang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from March 2013 to March 2014, were divided into control group and observation group, with 60 in each group. Both groups received routine rehabilitation training, and the observation group received core stability training and BWSTT,3 months for 1 course. Before and after rehabilitation training,Berg balance scale and footprint analysis were used to evaluate.
Results
After treatment the Berg Balance scale score was higher than that before treatment(P<0.05), and the score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). The step length, width and speed of the two groups were better after treatment than before(P<0.05); after treatment, they were better in observation than in control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The comprehensive rehabilitation training based on routine rehabilitation training combined with core stability training and BWSTT is beneficial to improving balance function and gait in children with spastic cerebral palsy.
