Abstract:
objective
Clinical effect and cost-effectiveness analysis of the treatment with Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid for hand-foot-mouth disease in children.
Methods
Sixty cases of hand-foot-mouth disease(common type) were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was given Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid and symptomatic treatment, while the control group was given recombinant interferon α-1b by intramuscular injection and ribavirin granules for orally taking, and symptomatic treatment was also given, 5 days as 1 course; observe the clinical efficacy, the time for symptoms and signs(including temperature, rash and oral herpes) to subsided, and the incidence rate of complications, the cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out.
Results
The recovery rate of treatment group and control group was 76.6%(23/30) and 50.0%(15/30), respectively, and there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total effective rate(P>0.05). The treatment group had a shorter fever time than the control group, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). Comparing the time for rash and oral herpes to subsided and the incidence of complication between the two groups, there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The cost-effect ratio of the two groups was 4.56 in treatment group and 7.03 in control group, and the treatment group was better than the control group(P>0.05).
Conclusion
The clinical Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid in treating children with hand-foot-mouth disease(common type) is remarkable, economical and convenient, which is worthy of clinical application.
