Abstract: The common causes of Tourette's syndrome (TS) are imbalance and abnormal conduction of central neurotransmitters, imbalance of trace elements, allergic reactions, abnormal immune function, mental factors and genetic factors. Rich experience has been accumulated in the clinical TCM treatment for Tourette's disease, and insect drugs have also played a role in calming the liver and the wind, relieving phlegm and spasm, relaxing muscles and tendons, and nourishing the kidney and consolidating the constitution, which regulate the central nervous system, resist allergy, supplement trace elements, and improve immune function, etc. The analysis shows that insect drugs can reach any part and deals with any problem, having incomparable efficacy compared with plant drugs; clinical efficacy is significant. However, the following principles should be followed in the treatment: eliminating evil without hurting the health, being careful in allergic infants, and combining attack with supplement, in order to avoid improper compatibility and hindering the recovery of children.
