Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effect of TCM master ZHANG Qi′s proven prescriptionShenyan Zhixue decoctionon the children with HenochSchonlein purpura nephritis of isolated hematuriatype. Methods A total of 104 patients with HenochSchonlein purpura nephritis of isolated hematuriatype were divided into test group and control group,with 52 patients in each group.The test group took Shenyan Zhixue decoction orally,while the control group took hematuresis capsule orally.Both groups were treated for three months as a course.The RBC count in routine urine and TCM syndromes were observed at 2 weeks,1 month,2 months and 3 months after taking medicine. Results There were 4 cases of dropping in the test group and 10 cases in the control group.After 2 weeks,1 month,2 months and 3 months,the total effective rate in the test group (73.0%,82.%,86.0% and 89.6%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(59.6%,600%,61.7% and 64.3%) (P<0.05).The RBC count in urine and the scores of TCM syndrome such as feverish palms and soles and night sweating in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment,and in the test group they were significantly lower than in the control group,the difference being statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Shenyan Zhixue decoction can reduce the RBC count in urine of children with HenochSchonlein purpura nephritis of isolated hematuriatype.The effect is significant and there isn′t obvious adverse drug reactions.
