Abstract: ObjectiveTo study the antitussive，eliminating phlegm and antiasthmatic effects of Souning oral liquid.MethodsSome experiments were done,including cough induced by citric acid in guinea pigs,cough induced by SO2 in mice,expectorant tests by phenol red in mice,asthma induced by histamine and acetylcholine in guinea pigs,asthma induced by ovalbumin in guinea pig,to study the antitussive，eliminating phlegm and antiasthmatic effects of Souning oral liquid.ResultsSouning oral liquid exhibited significant effects in the tests of cough induced by citric acid,cough induced by SO2,expectorant tests by phenol red,asthma induced by histamine and acetylcholine,and asthma induced by ovalbumin.ConclusionThe study suggests that Souning oral liquid has  antitussive,eliminating phlegm and antiasthmatic effects.
