Abstract: Objective:To analyze the clinical effects and the follow-up survey of 155 children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura(HSP),raising awareness of the disease.
Methods:To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of the 155 cases, who were treated from July 2013 to May  2014 and had been followed up for 6 months.
Results:The male to female ratio in 155 cases was 1.5 to 1; HSP occurred more commonly in winter and spring; most of patients were school-age children; upper respiratory tract infection was the most important predisposing factor. The 155 cases all had the typical skin purpura, and about 54.2% of the patients were with the joint symptoms,46.5% with the digestive tract symptoms,6.5% with renal damage, and 13.5% with nephritis. Of the 155 cases,136 cases(87.7%) were cured;13 cases(8.3%) were remarkably improved, and 6 cases(3.9%) were improved; the treatment was effective in all cases. After 6 months of follow-up, the recurrence rate was 7.1%.
Conclusion:The clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine on HSP is positive, and it is worthy of being popularized and applied in pediatric clinics.
