Effect of self made Qingre Qushi Jiedu decoction in the treatment of hand-foot-mouth disease

Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical effect of Qingre Qushi Jiedu decoction in the treatment of hand-foot-mouth disease.
Methods
A total of 130 children with hand-foot-mouth disease were included as the research subjects, who were treated in Shidong Health Clinic of Gaolan County, Gansu Province, from Feb.2013 to Dec.2014. These children were randomly divided into two groups, observation group and control group, with 65 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional treatment, and the observation group was also given Qingre Qushi Jiedu decoction, orally taken, for 7 days as a course. Observe the clinical effects in the two groups, as well as the time for fever, food refusal, salivating and herpes to return to normal.
Results
The effective rate in observation group was 87.7%(57/65),significantly higher than that of the control group(67.7%,44/65),the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).The time for fever, food refusal, salivating and herpes to return to normal was significantly shorter in observation group than that in control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).
Conclusion
Self made Qing Qushi Jiedu decoction is effective in the treatment of hand-foot-mouth disease, and is worthy of clinical application.
