Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of Baihu Guizhi decoction combined with basic western therapy in treating juvenile rheumatoid arthritis with dampheat obstruction. Methods From August 2012 to August 2016, 43 children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into observation group(n=22) and control group(n=21). The observation group was treated with Baihu Guizhi decoction plus ibuprofen tablet taken orally, while the control group was treated with ibuprofen taken orally, 4 weeks as a course. The clinical symptoms, signs, laboratory indexes and curative effect were observed. Results The antipyretic time, the time of relieving joint swelling and pain and the time of retraction of liver and spleen in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). The thickness of synovium, erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), C-reactive protein(CRP), interferon γ(IFN- γ) and IgG in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and IL-4 was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The total clinical effective rate in the observation group(95.4%,21/22) was significantly higher than that in the control group(61.9%,13/21), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). ConclusionBaihu Guizhi decoction combined with western medicine is significantly effective in the treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis with dampheat obstruction, and is worthy of further promotion and application.
