Abstract: With the development and progress of social economy and culture, more and more parents are paying attention to children's short stature. Especially, with the increasing demand for external factors in various industries and mate selection, the issue of children's growth and development has become a new focus of children's diseases in the post-pandemic era. Although the treatment methods with western medicine have rapid and significant effect, the origins are not long enough and the long-term risks are unknown; moreover, the clinical physique of children is constantly changing, making it impossible to fully suit indications. Traditional Chinese medicine, as an important component of China's traditional culture, can regulate children's physical fitness and promote growth and development, so the combination of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine helps to improve the efficiency and quality of diagnosis and treatment for short stature. The integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine is an inevitable choice for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This article starts with the diagnosis and treatment characteristics of traditional Chinese and western medicine, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing diagnosis and treatment methods, andsummarizes five common clinical types of short stature, including: growth hormone deficiency, central precocious puberty, constitutional delayed puberty, small for gestational age, and idiopathic short stature. Based on the integration of traditional Chinese with western medicine, corresponding strategies are briefly discussed.
