Abstract: Allergic rhinitis, as a common and frequently-occurring clinical disease in pediatrics, has gradually drawn the attention of experts and scholars, but the researches on it are mainly concerned with Zang-Fu syndrome differentiation. This article tries to study the etiology and pathogenesis and new treatment plans of allergic rhinitis based on microscopic Xuan-Fu combined with macroscopic Zang-Fu syndrome differentiation from the following aspects: the origin of nasal Xuan-Fu concept, the physiological features, the pathophysiological relationship with allergic rhinitis and the medication according to the association between the two. The Xuan-Fu blockage is the root cause of various diseases: the Zang-Fu blockage leads to fluid obstruction and defense-qi not being released, and the abnormal flowing of fluid and qi results in various diseases, which is the principal starting point and focus. It is hoped that the TCM Xuan-Fu theory will provide more points of thoughts for the researches in allergic rhinitis, and through establishing the association between nasal Xuan-Fu and western medicine pathways as well as targets, more lines of thinking and directions will be provided for the researches in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
