Followup and observation on 236 cases of fever-related convulsion

Abstract:
Objective:
To summarize the clinical characteristics of children with convulsions associated with fever, and to improve the knowledge of related diseases.
Methods:The clinical data of 236 cases of febrile convulsion was followed up and analysed.
Results:There were 197 cases of febrile seizures,2 cases of myoclonus-astatic epilepsy,2 cases of severe myoclonic epilepsy in infancy,7 cases of febrile seizures plus,14 cases of generalized epilepsy with febrile seizures plus,14 cases of nervous system abnormalities with one case complicated with hippocampal sclerosis.There were 12 cases with a family convulsions history only existing in first-degree relatives.
Conclusion:Febrile seizures is one of the more common convulsions associated with fever. Diagnosis of febrile seizures need to rule out other diseases.We should enhance the understanding of various convulsions associated with fever, which is very important to the diagnosis of the disease and judge ment of the prognosis.
