The clinical research on 160 cases of bronchial asthma in children by Chinese and Western Medicine combination treatment Liao Min，Liu Xiaofan. 2010, 2 (2):  112-114.  Abstract ( 163 )   PDF (397KB) ( 57 )   Save  acupuncture point group for the remission of children asthma drawn up by experts and contained in acient books.〖WT5"HZ〗Methods80 children in remission of asthma were randomly divided into two groups：the treated group（acupuncture point group drawn up by experts） and the control group（treatment contained in acient books）.The clinical effect and the improvement of the main and minor symptoms after treatment were observed.〖WT5"HZ〗ResultsAfter application of Herbal Plaster therapy for a course，and a sixmonth followup，asthma attack frequency，the degree of breathing space when attacked，the number of normal flu，the degree of running nose，and the secondary symptoms：sweating，fatigue，enervation，etc.had been significantly improved（P＜0.05）；After treatment，the total clinical effectiveness of the treated group was 77.5%，significantly better than the control group which was 57.5%（P＜0.05）;The improvement of the main symptoms after teratment in the treated group was superior to the control group（P＜0.05），but the difference of the minor symptoms after treatment in the two groups had no statistical significance（P＞0.05）.〖WT5"HZ〗ConclusionsThe effect of the acupoint group drawn up by experts for preventing and controlling children asthma was better than treatment contained in acient books and worthy applied widely. To explore the advantage of TCM combined with Western Medicine in treating acute asthma in children. 〖WT5"HZ〗Methods240 children suffered acute asthma in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM is divided into two groups radomly，according to the ratio of 2∶1，the treated group（TCM combined with Western Medicine） and the control group（Western Medicine），to observe the single symptoms signs score changes，the main clinical symptoms，and signs score changes after treatment. 〖WT5"HZ〗ResultsThe total rate of effection in treated group is 98.1%.There was no obvious statistics difference between the two groups（P＞0.05）.The treated group was superior to control group on evident control group，alleviating cough，phlegm，dyspnea symptoms and scores asthma symptoms（P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. 〖WT5"HZ〗ConclusionTCM combined Western Medicine has unique superiority in treating children asthma.It is worthy of futher research. Effects of TaizijianⅡ decoction on EOS and ET1 in guinea pigs of allergic asthma LI Lan，CHEN Hua,YU Jingmao. 2010, 2 (2):  132-134.  Abstract ( 163 )   PDF (569KB) ( 105 )   Save ObjectiveTo observe the effect of TaizijianⅡ decoction（TZJⅡ） on EOS and ET1 of guinea pig asthma models.〖JP2〗To explore the mechanism of TZJⅡ on antirelapsing children asthma.〖WT5"HZ〗Methods50 guinea pigs were divided into 5 groups randomly，normal control group，asthma model group，dexamethasone group，highdose TZJⅡ group and lowdose TZJⅡ group.The five groups were sensitized with ovalbumin，and induced asthma successfully.After that each group were given different preventive and treatments for 15 days.Then the number of eosinophils（EOS） in peripheral blood，bronchoalveolar lavage fluid（BALF） and bronchial wall were counted by counting plate.The content of ET1 in BALF were measured by radioimmunity methods.〖WT5"HZ〗ResultsHighdose TZJⅡ could reduce the number of EOS in 〖JP2〗BALF and bronchial wall（P<0.05），lower the ET1 content in BALF（P<0.01） compared with guinea pig asthma models.〖WT5"HZ〗ConclusionTZJⅡ can lessen EOS infiltration and regulate ET1 production，suggesting that it might take effect in alleviating the chronic airway inflammation. Influence on plumonary function of children with bronchial asthma by using combination of TCM with Western Medicine WANG Junlan，SHANG Lili，GUI Jingui，et al. 2010, 2 (2):  137-138.  Abstract ( 169 )   PDF (418KB) ( 79 )   Save ObjectiveTo observe the effect of combined treatment of TCM and Western Medicine on the pulmonary function of children with bronchial asthma. 〖WT5"HZ〗Method67 children with bronchial asthma were randomized into two groups:treated group and control group.Two groups were given the same amount of western drugs,the treated group received Chinese Medicine at the same time.Peak expiratory flow was monitored with peak flowmeter,and the number of times of asthmatic attack was observed. 〖WT5"HZ〗ResultsPulmonary function of the treated group was remarkably increased (P＜0.05),while the frequency of asthmatic attack decreased obviously after combined treatment of TCM and Western Medicine for 3 months.There was significant difference in statistics,compared with the control group（P＜0.05）. 〖WT5"HZ〗ConclusionsThe combined treatment of TCM and Western Medicine can not only speed up the lysis of bronchial asthma,but also improve the pulmonary function.
