Abstract: Objective:To obtain the situation of children's oral health behavior and the utilization of oral health resources,and to study the correlation between children's oral health behavior and their dental caries. Methods:Using a random sampling method of fixedpoint,hierarchical and of an equal number,we extracted 440 5yearold children of kindergartens and their parents resident in Shenyang city,with equal number in male and female.Questionnaire was used to obtain data on their oral health behavior,and clinical examination was used to get the data of the incidence of caries.And the results were statistically analyzed. Results:In target population deciduous caries was 67.1%,dmft was 1 362,dmft being 3.10.Caries prevalence rate of the children with the habit of eating sweets before going to bed being 92.3%,dmft being 4.59.There was a significant difference from those without such acts(P<0.01).Caries prevalence rate of the children with effective brushing under the supervision of parents was 42.2%,dmft being 1.08.There was a significant difference from those without such acts(P<0.01).Caries prevalence rate of the children with regularly oral health check was 36.4%,dmft being 1.63.There was a significant difference from those without such acts(P<0.05). Conclusions:Children's oral health behavior and their dental caries incidence have the correlation. It is important to strengthen the oral health education in parents in order to improve their children's oral health.
