Abstract:
Objective
To study the head MRI manifestations and the TCM syndrome types in children with cerebral palsy.
Methods
A total of 156 children with cerebral palsy were selected, who were treated in Shenyang children's Hospital from Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2016.According to TCM syndrome differentiation, there were 93 cases of strong-liver and weak-spleen type(59.62%), 22 cases of spleen-kidney deficiency type(14.10%), 15 cases of phlegm and blood stasis type(9.62%),and heart-spleen weakness type(16.67%) . The head of these children was examined by MRI, and the relationship between MRI manifestations and TCM syndrome types was analyzed.
Results
In the 156 cases of cerebral palsy, there are 64 cases of leucomalacia(41.02%), 41 cases of extra-cerebral interval widening(26.28%), 6 cases of lateral ventricular lesion(3.84%),19 cases of basal ganglia lesion(12.18%), 16 cases of malformation of myelin sheath(10.26%), 3 cases of malformation of brain development(1.92%), and 7 cases of corpus callosum lesion(4.49%). The manifestations of head MRI had statistical difference in various TCM syndromes(P<0.05), and there were more cases of leucomalacia and cerebral interval widening in the strong-liver and weak-spleen syndrome than in other syndrome types(P<0.05).
Conclusion
There is an internal relationship between the MRI manifestations and TCM syndrome types in children with cerebral palsy.
