Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical effect of infantile massage as adjuvant treatment for infants with herpangina(solid-heat syndrome).
Methods
Totally 107 cases of herpangina were selected who were treated from October 2015 to February 2017 in the Outpatient Department of Pediatrics, Fuping County Hospital of Hebei Province. The patients were randomly divided into two groups:54 cases in the observation group and 53 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with intravenous dripping of ribavirin and energy drugs, and antipyretic drugs were used for fever above 38.5 ℃. The observation group was treated with massage therapy on the basis of the treatment for control group. After 4 days, the treatment effect and the time for clinical symptoms and signs to disappear before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.
Results
The total effective rate of the observation group was 90.7% (49/54), which was significantly higher than that of the control group (75.5%,40/53), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The fever abatement time, saliva disappearance time and herpes disappearance time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the difference being statistically significant (P<0.05).
Conclusion
The clinical efficacy of infantile massage in the treatment of infantile herpangina is better, and the method is simple and easy to perform; it's more likely for the children and their families to accept.
