Abstract:
Objective
To observe the curative efficacy of gelatin oyster oral liquid in combination with compound preparations of zinc, iron and calcium in children with vitamin D deficiency rickets and its influences on bone metabolism.
MethodsA total of 80 children with vitamin D deficiency rickets, who received treatment in our department from June 2016 to September 2017, were collected as observational objects and were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，with 40 cases in each group. All children were given conventional treatment of vitamin D. Besides conventional treatments, the control group was given treatment of compound preparations of zinc, iron and calcium, while the observation group was given treatment of gelatin oyster oral liquid in combination with compound preparations of zinc, iron and calcium. After 12 weeks, the curative efficacy and levels of indices of bone metabolism were compared between the two groups.
Results
After 12 weeks, the total effective rate of the observation group(95.0%, 38/40) was statistically higher than that of the control group(77.5%, 31/40, P<0.05). Indices of bone metabolism showed that in comparison with the control group, the observation group had higher bone density of radius and ulna, lower level of bone alkaline phosphatase, and higher level of 25-(OH)D3 with all statistical differences(P<0.05).
ConclusionBesides conventional treatment of vitamin D, gelatin oyster oral liquid in combination with compound preparations of zinc, iron and calcium has good curative effect in children with vitamin D deficiency rickets, and it can increase curative efficacy and improve indices of bone metabolism.
