Abstract: Objective To observe the curative effect of self-made "Xiaoke paste" in the treatment of acute cough in children with wind-cold to heat syndrome. Methods A total of 114 children with acute cough who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(n=56) and control group(n=58). On the basis of conventional treatment,"Xiaoke paste" or placebo were added respectively, and the course of treatment was 7 days. Before and after treatment, the main TCM syndromes and signs scores, the minor TCM syndrome scores, and the total scores of TCM syndromes and signs were observed, and the clinical efficacy and incidence of adverse events were evaluated. Results After treatment, the scores of main TCM syndromes and signs, the scores of secondary TCM syndromes, and the total scores of TCM syndromes and signs in the two groups were all lower than those before treatment, and the treatment group was lower than the control group, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 92.8%(52/56) and 77.6%(45/58),respectively,and the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).There were no serious adverse events in either group. Conclusion"Xiaoke paste" can significantly improve the symptoms of acute cough with wind-cold to heat syndrome in children, and the clinical control rate is significant.
