Abstract:

At present, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) comorbid with sleep disorder (SD) has a high incidence. The clinical characteristics are mainly manifested as:difficult sleep at night, daytime sleepiness, sleep resistance, increased sleep awakening, sleep restlessness, having nightmares, decrease in effective sleep time and difficulty in morning awakening, etc.,which seriously affect the development of nervous system and quality of life of children, and even affect the childrens school performances and increase the risk of accidents.Currently, the research focuses on the pathogenesis of ADHD and sleep disorder;however, there are few reports on the pathogenesis and Chinese-western treatment of the comorbidity, which dont receive enough attention. This paper analyzes the literature on comorbidity and makes a review on its relationship with allergic diseases, the pathogenesis,non-drug treatment and drug treatment, and the tutorsclinical experience is introduced.Taking the three differentiations-disease differentiation, symptom differentiation and syndrome differentiation-it is believed that the most common manifestation of comorbidity at the early stage is the syndrome of heart-liver fire, and at later stage heart-spleen deficiency and Yin-deficiency of liver and kidney are more common. At early stage the drugs for tranquilization with heavy prescription can be used, and at later stage the drugs for nourishing heart and tranquilization are used as the main therapy
