Abstract:
Objective
To observe the effect on the ratio of sIgA in saliva and serum albumin(sIgA/ALB)when Fugan decoction combined with chiropractic therapy were applied to the children with recurrent respiratory tract infections(RRTIs) with spleen deficiency and liver prosperous syndrome.
Methods
From December 2015 to August 2016,200 cases of children with RRTIs in the Department of Pediatrics admitted to Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as the subjects, and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 100 cases in each. Nineteen cases withdrew or stopped because of missing visits, including 8 cases in the observation group and 11 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with pidotimod, while the treatment group was treated with Fugan decoction and the chiropractic therapy. Both of them were treated for one month. The sIgA and ALB in saliva were detected before treatment and 3 months after treatment, and the clinical effects of the two groups were observed.
Results
The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.8%(90/92), which was significantly higher than that of the control group(80.9%,72/89), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of sIgA/ALB in the two groups was significantly lower before treatment than that after treatment and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of sIgA/ALB in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group after the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The Fugan decoction combined with chiropractic therapy can significantly improve the ratio of sIgA/ALB and the mucosal immune function in children.
