Abstract:
Objective:
To discuss the effect of acupoint application of self-made plaster on anorexia in children and its effect on appetite regulation factor.
Methods:
Eighty children with anorexia were divided into the observation group(n=40) and control group(n=40) at random, Both groups of children were given basic treatment, such as correcting bad eating habits and dietary adjustment. Both groups took bifidobacterium orally, 1.0 g at a time, 3 times a day. The observation group also received acupoint application of self-made plaster, once a day for the first three days in a week, and was suspended for the next four days. The treatment lasted for 4 courses, with 2 weeks in a course. Observe clinical results,TCM syndrome score, serum leptin and neuropeptide Y levels before and after clinical treatment in the two groups. The recurrence rate was observed after 6 months and 1 year of discontinuation was also observed.
Results:
In the observation group 39 cases completed the treatment and one case lose. In the control group 38 cases completed the treatment, including 1 patient who had withdrawn from treatment due to adhesive allergy, and 1 patient who had anorexia due to secondary diseases. The total clinical effective rate in observation group(94.9%,37/39) was much higher than that in control group(76.3%,29/38)(P<0.05),the difference being statistical. The TCM syndrome score of both groups was lower than that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Serum leptin and neuropeptide Y levels were higher in both groups after treatment than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum leptin and neuropeptide Y levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The recurrence rate of children in the observation group was lower than that of the control group at 6 months and 1 year followup after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).
Conclusion:
Acupoint application of plaster combined with bifidobacterium in the treatment of anorexia in children has a good effect, which can significantly improve the nutritional status of children, and the recurrence rate is low, and its effect is related to the increase of serum leptin and neuropeptide Y levels.
