Abstract:
Objective:
To observe the clinical effect of the treatment for children with tic disorders based on "blood" by nourishing blood and eliminating wind.
Methods:
A total of 82 children with tic disorders were treated in Nanyang First People's Hospital from Jan. 2013 to Jan. 2016, and were included as the research subjects, among whom there were 38 cases of transient tic, 29 cases of chronic tic, and 15 cases of multiple tic. The electroencephalography(EEG) showed abnormal results in 27 cases, of which there were 11 cases of chronic tic, 7 cases of multiple tic and 9 cases of transient tic; among the 27 cases, 16 were with mild nonspecific abnormality, and 11 with moderate abnormality. Based on the treatment principle of nourishing blood and eliminating wind, the prescription of modified Tianma Gouteng Yin was made. The treatment lasted for two courses of treatment, one month as a course. The clinical effect and EEG improvement were observed.
Results:
The treatment was obviously effective in 56 cases, effective in 21 cases and in effective in 5 cases, the total effective rate being 93.9%(77/82). Among the 27 cases of abnormal EEG, 13 returned to normal, of which 7 changed from moderate abnormality to mild abnormality. The improvement was not significant in 7 cases.
Conclusion:According to the principle of nourishing blood and eliminating wind, the treatment based on "blood" has significant effect on children with tic disorders; it can promote the recovery of brain cells and significantly improve the electrophysiological activities of the brain, which is worth further studies and promotion.
