Abstract: Bronchiolitis obliterans in children is a kind of irreversible obstructive pulmonary disease. Clinically the disease is difficult to be cured and the prognosis is poor. Traditional Chinese medicine has its unique advantage in the treatment of this disease. Based on the theory of collaterals, this paper first discusses the relationship between the disease characteristics and collateral disease and concludes that the disease has the characteristics of collateral disease. Based on the theory of collateral diseases, the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease are analyzed. It is believed that the positive deficiency is the root cause of the disease. The phlegm stasis toxin is both the pathogenic factor and the pathological product, and the lung pulmonary collateral depression and numbness is the basic pathogenesis. Therefore, the treatment for this disease should follow the principle of a comprehensive treatment, giving consideration to both causes and symptoms.
