Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of core stability training on gross motor function, surface EMG of adductor muscle and gastrocnemius muscle, and serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) and insulin-like growth factor(IGF-1) in children with spastic cerebral palsy(CP for short). Methods A total of 95 children with spastic cerebral palsy admitted to our hospital from October 2020 to February 2022 were selected as research subjects: 47 cases in the control group were given routine rehabilitation, and 48 cases in the observation group were additionally given core stability training. The scores of each area of the Gross Motor Function Test Scale 88(GMFM-88) were compared between the two groups. The surface electromyography(RMS) of adductor muscle and gastrocnemius muscle, and the level of nerve related factors(BDNF,IGF-1) were also compared. Results After intervention, the GMFM-88 D zone score and E zone score in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of adductor muscle RMS and gastrocnemius muscle RMS were lower than those in the control group, and the levels of BDNF and IGF-1 were higher than those in the control group, with statistical difference(P<0.05). Conclusion Core stability training has definite effect on children with spastic cerebral palsy, which can effectively improve the level of nerve-related factors, reduce muscle tension and improve gross motor function in children, and has clinical promotion value.
