Abstract: This paper explains and develops characteristics of etiology and pathogenesis about ADHD, which takes traditional Chinese medicine classics as criteria, clinical symptoms for records, the theory of "The balance of Yin-Yang" as the guidance, and the theory of "Three aspects surplus and four aspects insufficiency" as the basis. The excess of Yang, liver and heart causes wind and fire;the insufficiency in spleen, lung and kidney produces phlegm, rheum and damp, and may cause shortage of essence, blood and Yin. The keynote could be summarized as five words:wind, fire, phlegm, stasis and weakness. It could be concluded as follows:wind blows and surges up;fire rises and spirit disturbs;sputum stasis and orifices block;blood-insufficiency in heart and spleen;asthenia of essence and blood;blood stasis refusing Yang.
