Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of the water extract or ethanol extract of Houttuynia (H. cordata), pberetima and Cortex Mori, whether in compound, or used alone, or used by combining either two of them, in inhibiting Mycoplasma pneumoniae in vitro. Methods: Mycoplasma pneumoniae was cultured and the drug sensitivity test was performed. MIC method was used to determine the in vitro inhibitory effect of each group of combination on Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Results: All groups had inhibitory effect on Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Among them, the MIC value in the ethanol extract of compound group, which was significantly lower than that in the water extract and the ethanol extract of Houttuynia cordata, the water extract and the ethanol extract of Cortex Mori, the water extract and the ethanol extract of the combination group of pberetima and Cortex Mori, and the water extract and the ethanol extract of the combination group of Cortex Mori and Houttuynia cordata, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusion:The Chinese medicine extract has bacteriostatic effect, and if used in combination, the effect will be enhanced.
