Abstract: Clinically, the differentiated prescription based on the "eight principles" is often used in the treatment of children with cough. But many mixed /miscellaneous syndromes are observed in clinical practice, in which it is difficult to distinguish the exterior from the interior or the cold from the heat. In clinical treatment, the selfmade Xinma decoction by professor Chang Ke was used based on the principle of combining cold medicine with hot medicine，and prepared new ephedra prescription for treatment, which has been proved clinically effective。
