Abstract: Objective To explore effects of reading therapy on children with congenital heart disease (CHD). Methods Ninety CHD children treated in the hospital from November 2017 to December 2018 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group,45 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine oral education and disease nursing intervention.Besides, observation group was given Reading Therapy Reader for Hospitalized Children for reading therapy intervention. The perioperative heart rate, surgical cooperation, postoperative anxiety status and postoperative pain status were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in heart rate during sleep time at night or after anesthesia between the two groups (P>0.05).The heart rate in observation group was lower than that in control group when leaving ward and at anesthesia induction time (P<0.05).The anesthesia induction resistance score and emergence agitation score in observation group were lower than those in control group (P<0.05).At 18d after surgery, anxiety score in observation group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in the 1d,7d or 8d pain behavior score between the two groups after surgery (P>0.05);however,the 26d score was lower in observation group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05). Conclusion Reading therapy can effectively reduce perioperative anxiety status of CHD children, strengthen their perioperative coordination degree, and alleviate postoperative pain
