Abstract: Objective:To explore and analyze the disease recurrence in children during epilepsy remission within 2 years after drug reduction and withdrawal, and to analyze the related factors that induce recurrence.
Methods:A total of 168 children during epilepsy remission after anti-drug treatment in our hospital from March 2016 to March 2018 were followed up.Their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. The related factors that caused epilepsy recurrence were analyzed.
Results:In the 2 years of follow-up,there were 40 recurrence cases in the 168 children, with recurrence rate being 23.81%.The following factors, including age younger than 6 years old, course of disease no shorter than 1 year before treatment, persistent epilepsy before treatment, intracranial lesions,AEDs treatment cycle no shorter than 1 year, epileptic discharge before drug reduction and withdrawal, drug reduction and withdrawal shorter than 6 months and abnormal EEG manifestations before drug reduction and withdrawal, were risk factors of recurrence.
Conclusion:Clinically, drug reduction and withdrawal should follow the principle of individualization in epilepsy children.Taking targeted intervention measures for high-risk factors helps to reduce the recurrence rate after drug reduction and withdrawal in children during remission.
